POWELL, Wyo. - On its last trip of the semester, the Northwest College Forensics Team headed south to the Oct. 29-Nov. 2 Springs Swing Tournament that featured back-to-back competitions by Colorado College and the University of Colorado College at Colorado Springs.

NWC competed in debate only at the Colorado College tournament, sweeping up the top junior division speaker awards with first, second and third place finishes. One of NWC’s two-person debate teams placed first in the junior division, out of 30 teams, pushing NWC to an overall third place in debate among all colleges and the top-finishing community college team in debate and overall.

In the final tally of all colleges attending, Northwest’s debate sweep was enough to boost the team to fifth overall in combined individual events and debate points.

In the UC-Colorado tournament, NWC competed only in individual events, grabbing nine awards to finish second overall among community colleges.
