Free concert features three bands Jan. 15

P O W E L L,  W y o. - The school of rock meets the veterans of rock Thursday, Jan. 15, in a free concert featuring the School of Rock band (a Northwest College class), West the Band and Righteous Vendetta.

The music starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium.

The School of Rock Band brings together the talents of nine students from Powell and Cody who learned to play together as a rock band in a two-week intersession class that culminates in this concert. Cody students performing in the band are Colin Cunningham and Darrell Keill. The group's Powell musicians are Brennan Althoff, Lori and Steve Austill, Robbie Cook, Will Crompton, Spencer Nelson, Devon Prell and Kiefer Prestwich.

They'll be followed by the legendary local group West the Band featuring Ed Cook, Jim Krubeck , Bobby Raver, Steve Singer and Doug Hunter.

The program wraps up with the heavy metal stylings of Righteous Vendetta, with Tim Schoessler, NWC's music program coordinator, and Ryan Hayes, Justin Olmstead, Zach Paris and Alex Beaverson.

Admission is free.
