POWELL, Wyo. - Northwest College movie students will again roll out the red carpet to premiere their latest films on Friday, May 6.

This year’s world premiere will feature movies from this spring semester as well as a project started a year ago.

“E.J. and Gabe” stars Braden Wright of Parker, Colo., and Daniel Wilkerson of Ronan, Mont. Written by Elinor Cruze of Greybull, the movie was produced by students during the spring 2011 semester. The plot centers on two college roommates from different backgrounds and different attitudes.

The second film, “The Somnambulist,” stars Ben Norberg of Powell, and was written by Brian Kent of Powell. It’s the story of a struggling actor with a sleepwalking problem. Production was completed during the spring semester of 2010 and post-production completed this semester.

Audio production students of Robert Rumbolz, NWC assistant professor of music, recorded and edited dialogue as well as produced original music for both movies.

“Each year, these movies give Northwest students an opportunity to exercise their imaginations in creating original productions,” said Dennis Davis, NWC assistant professor of journalism/mass communication. “We invite the public to share in the world premiere to enjoy students’ work.”

Cast and crew will arrive by limousine and face the paparazzi on the red carpet starting at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Fagerberg Building. The movies start at 7 p.m. and the popcorn is free.

The films contain adult themes and language that may not be suitable for younger viewers.
