Learn facilitation basics in Tuesday, April 29, workshop

POWELL, Wyo. — University of Wyoming Extension Educator Tara Kuipers will be in Powell Tuesday, April 29, to lead a facilitation training to help participants get results while working with groups.

The all-day workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Northwest College Center for Training and Development, 1397 Fort Drum Drive.

“Basic facilitation skills can help you get more accomplished and see better results, Kuipers said, “whether you lead meetings that are formal or informal, committees that are large or small, or groups at your workplace or in your community. Facilitation is often considered the art and science of leading groups.”

She’ll focus on defining the role and characteristics of an effective facilitator; identifying the key principles of facilitation and factors that create successful meetings; and describe best practices for a variety of settings.

Participants will also have opportunities to practice a number of facilitation techniques and skills.

Cost is $35 per person and includes lunch. Continuing education credits are available.
