Computer Gremlins and Excel II training offered

P O W E L L, W y o. - There's still time to squeeze two more computer trainings in before the holidays. The Northwest College Center for Training and Development will offer workshops during early December on Taming Your Computer Gremlins and Excel II in Cody and Powell, respectively.

Excel II meets from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 5 and 7, in the Center for Technology and Innovation on the NWC West Campus in Powell. Taught by Duncan Bonine, this two-part workshop deals with the intricacies of large and multiple worksheets, and covers customizing Excel, advanced formatting, managing lists, advanced charting and templates, documenting and auditing. Cost is $60 per person and includes a comprehensive manual.

Taming Your Computer Gremlins meets from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development. Instructor Isaac Cushman of JCS America said he'll discuss basic everyday computer problems, things to try before consulting a professional, how to be safe on the Internet and what to do with already-established virus and spyware problems. In addition, he'll give participants a list of the do's and don'ts of holiday computer-related shopping and preview the upcoming release of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Cost $25 per person.
