Northwestern College Department of Music once again presents a program of deep musical worship amid fragrant evergreen and rich God-given artistic gifts. We hope you will join us as we direct the Advent and Christmas Season toward its true centerpiece: Jesus Christ, the newborn King. This year’s program is framed by phrases from Mendelssohn’s beloved hymn, Hark, the Herald Angels Sing! We will perform three beloved works of Mendelssohn, Handel and Haydn, along with hymns and carols associated with them. This year we will also be celebrating a fifteen-year partnership between our visual artist Martha Ensign Johnson, and her amazing artwork for Christmas at Northwestern programs since 1995. A more complete retrospective of Martha’s works will also adorn the walls of the Totino Fine Arts Center lobby.
