Early College Overview
Northwestern's Early College courses allow high school juniors and seniors to take individually selected college courses at a significantly discounted rate.

Courses are offered in a convenient distance education format, so you can schedule your studies around other classes and activities. Early College courses can give you a head start on college by allowing you to earn college credit while you’re still in high school.

In addition to discounted tuition, your books are made available to you on a loan basis—there is no extra cost to you! Northwestern College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org, 312-263-0456), so your credits will transfer to Northwestern's undergraduate programs or another college.

Many homeschooled students use Early College courses as their junior or senior year curriculum. Some states and school districts also offer the opportunity to earn high school credit through Early College programs—check with your school for details. (Minnesota students, check out the Postsecondary Enrollment Options—PSEO—courses at nwc.edu/pseo.)
