The information below is for December 18, 2009, planned graduates only.

Note: Students planning to be considered December graduates must have all academic requirements met by the end of Fall Semester, 2009.

Schedule of Events for Commencement
11:30 a.m. Graduation Family Brunch
As a family, you have completed an incredible milestone. Join us as we honor the achievements of you and your family. The celebration will include an official welcome to the Northwestern College Alumni Association.

Time: 11:30 a.m. (doors will open at 11:15 a.m.)

Location: Blue Room

Cost: $11.00 per person (including graduate)

Tickets: Go on sale November 9th

1:15–2:30 p.m. Commencement rehearsal in Maranatha Hall
3:15 p.m. Participating graduates assemble in regalia in Nazareth Hall, 2nd floor
4:00–5:30 p.m. Commencement ceremony in Maranatha Hall

Reception immediately follows ceremony

Caps and Gowns
Beginning in September, planned graduates order caps and gowns by clicking here. Caps and gowns must be ordered by no later than October 31. Caps and gowns will be distributed in the Blue Room at Grad Expo on Tuesday, December 8. Caps and gowns must be returned to carousel room F2106 (for Traditional undergraduate students) and carousel room F2128 (for Graduate and Continuing Education students) in the Totino Fine Arts Center following the commencement ceremony. You may keep your tassel.

Graduation Announcement Ordering
Beginning in October, planned graduates who desire to order graduation announcements may do so by clicking here.

Commencement Tickets
Tickets are required for guests of participating graduates. The number of tickets provided is based on the total number of graduates planning to participate in commencement. Tickets will be distributed to participating graduates at Grad Expo on Tuesday, December 8. Each candidate attending commencement will receive 8 tickets. (Note: Overflow seating is available in the choir room [F2211]. Tickets not needed for F2211.)

Professional Photographers
Each graduate will be photographed as diplomas are awarded and at a posed location at the side of the stage. You will be given the opportunity to purchase pictures directly from Jolesch Photography.

Diplomas
Diplomas will be mailed in January if you have:

  • fulfilled all degree requirements, and
  • paid your student account in full including the graduation fee (undergraduate: $30; graduate: $50) charged to your account the last term you register.

(Note: Your diploma lists degree only. Your transcript lists degree, major(s), and any minor(s).)

Grad Expo
Grad Expo will take place in the Nazareth Hall Blue Room on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, 1:30–6:00 p.m., for the December 2009 planned graduates. Grad Expo is a festive event that provides a "one-stop" opportunity for planned graduates to clear from campus and pick up their commencement tickets and cap and gown. Students planning to graduate in December will receive an invitation prior to the event.
