Medical Scribe Professionals are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a physician throughout his or her work day. They serve as a personal assistant to doctors to help make them more efficient and productive.
It is estimated that by the year 2020 there will be over 100,00 individuals working as medical scribes and we regularly receive inquiries from doctors' offices, medical clinics and hospitals across the country looking for well-trained, certified scribes. Conduct a quick Google search to see which healthcare organizations in your local area are hiring. Now is a great time to get started.
The Medical Scribe Professional training program is designed to train the individual in the field of medical scribing. Students will learn the fundamentals of the career, including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, electronic health records, medico-legal rules and regulations including HIPAA, the essentials of medical coding and reimbursement, and hands-on education using practical scribe scenarios to fulfill the diversity of the scribe training program.
This program is taught entirely online, however, there are several activities towards the end of the program which require one-on-one interaction with the instructor via GoToMeeting. These one-on-one meetings are coordinated with each student individually. This course includes introducing instruction to Anatomy & Physiology and Medical Terminology.
