Northwest College

Past Activities and Projects

The Northwest College Alumni Association is on the move! Here's a brief summary of activities, past and present.

Official publication

The Northwest Alumni News was first published in spring 1980 as the official publication of the NWCAA. It evolved over time, including launch of a full-color magazine, Tracks, in spring 2014.

Alumni Directories Published by Harris Publishing Co. in 1991 and 2001, the most recent publication is a 316-page, hard-bound book including messages from the college President, Alumni Association President, college profile, Alumni Association facts, as well as these alumni sections: biographical, class year, geographical and career networking. We can help you locate a classmate.
Student recruitment and retention Evening receptions in various communities involving alumni, faculty/staff and prospective students and their parents; presence at Kick-off Weekend for new freshmen; helping students move into residence halls; alumni testimonials for use in recruiting materials; and an alumni-student mentor program—all have helped NWC recruit and retain students.
Reunions Small and large, reunions have helped alumni rekindle relationships and reconnect with Northwest.
Bridger Hall memorial As an on-site memorial to Bridger Hall, a residence hall destroyed by fire in spring 2004 without loss of life or serious injury, the NWCAA commissioned a bench/planter memorial using bricks from the demolished hall.
Alumni Legislative Relations Network Wyoming alumni communicate key messages to Wyoming Legislators before and during legislative sessions.
Alumni Association Scholarship For children or grandchildren of alumni, the scholarship is among the college's most prestigious. Four recipients are selected each spring for $2,000 awards per year. The scholarship program is funded by a portion of donations received during the annual Alumni Scholarship Drive.
Commemorative Coin A special design was created to mint silver and bronze commemorative coins and key chains to help celebrate the college's 50th anniversary in 1996.
AA Credit Card Offered to all alumni and other friends, the NWC Foundation receives a fraction of a percentage of every transaction which is used for alumni relations activities.
Service on NWC Board of Trustees committees Alumni Directors are called upon to represent the NWCAA on critical committees of the Board of Trustees, such as the Building Naming Committee and Presidential Search Committees.
